After being on keto for almost 6 weeks Dave and I successfully fit into our pants and ran away to Europe for 2 weeks where we ate so. much. food!
I had always planned on “eating whatever I wanted in Europe” as my reward should I actually lose enough to make my clothes fit, so I did exactly that. Between the very, very good meals we had daily I also had real pop! chocolate bars! candy! gelato! Basically whatever I felt like. We also walked around 12 kilometres a day so I figured it would all balance out.
When we got home I got on the scale, I had gained 8 pounds. I had a mini freak out, naturally, and then relaxed a bit and went straight back to keto. It’s taken 5 days but I’m back to pre-Europe weight and on my way out of the 190s (again, for the 3rd time in 6 years, much like the Stanley Cup winning Blackhawk dynasty team).
I have to give myself goals to work towards, so if I stay on keto for another 6 weeks I’m going to take a week off and eat some things I’ll have missed. 6 on, 1 off seems pretty doable!
I’ll post some trip related stuff in the coming days, I miss traveling already, but I am glad to be back down to pre-travel weight. Whew.
