Today I really didn’t want to work out. It takes me a long time to get going after not working out for so long. I dragged my butt to the gym and ran 12 minutes, walked 18 minutes. It seems like a really slow start because at one point 2 years ago I used to run 30 minutes and then do WiiFit or Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred every day.
Below is a picture of me sad that I had to get my hair wet twice today. I really dislike having wet hair and blow drying is maybe the worst activity in the world. It’s weird to admit but one of the main reasons I normally don’t work out is because once I’m ready for the day I don’t want to get all gross and then have to get re-ready for the day. I once had this crazy notion I’d be able to get up at 6:30 am and work out but every time 6:30 am comes around I would laugh a lot at myself and go back to bed. How do you people get motivated to work out at all, but especially in the morning! Oh well, at least I managed 30 minutes.
The man who was on the machine next to me told me a really funny story. Once he came into the gym and the lights were off and he didn’t see a woman doing yoga on the floor and he nearly stepped on her by the time he noticed her. He said they both had small heart attacks and now he turns the light on in the gym every single time he goes in and announces himself loudly in case someone is on the floor.
I hope he’s back tomorrow with another story for me. It almost makes going to the gym bearable. Almost.
